Rubens Menin Very Very Old Port ‍

‍

Discover 150 years of history, all in a single bottle.

In the Douro Valley, where the landscape has been shaped by the labour of generations and by the deep bond between man and the land, wines are born that transcend time. It was in this unique region that Menin Douro Estates discovered and recognised a true gem amongst Port wines.

Rather than merely preserving an extraordinary wine, Menin has dedicated itself to revealing its true value, with the same care and precision with which a diamond is cut.

‍

Sourced from pre-phylloxera ungrafted vines, this Tawny has aged slowly over some 150 years – first in chestnut wood and subsequently in casks.

‍

The result is a wine of extraordinary depth, preserved across generations and now recognised as a true legacy of Port wine.

‍

With a history spanning around a century and a half, Rubens Menin Very Very Old Port offers a rare opportunity to taste time itself.

‍

Deep in colour and impressively concentrated, it displays shades of dark amber and antique gold,  interwoven with autumnal green hues — visible marks of the many generations it has endured.

‍

On the nose, it reveals a complexity that is difficult to summarise.

Aged heather honey.
Subtle notes of resin and dry leaves.
Iodised, maritime hints.
Fennel, cardamom and the finest saffron.

‍

More than just a combination of aromas and flavours, it is an experience that awakens the senses and lingers in the memory.

Our wine cellar is a space where the art of wine is revealed in every detail. Discover this and other unique sensory experiences. Get in touch with us.
