TASTING WINE, TASTING ART
Italian wines with over 250 years of history havearrived at Rocco

The wines from Casa Borgogno, in Italy, arrived at Rocco's wine cellar in a vertical collection with references from twelve different years, the oldest being from 1988 and the most recent from 2015, bringing Italian culture and history directly to Rua Ivens.
With over 250 years of history, Borgogno is the oldest winery in continuous operation in Barolo, in the Piedmont region. This iconic Italian producer, which today has 100% of its production certified organic, produces its wines through spontaneous fermentation in cement vats and ages them in large Slavonian oak barrels. Maceration is long and the wines have immense ageing potential.
The winery is located in the centre of the village of Barolo and has historic underground cellars dug into the mountainsides, where the wines are produced and stored. With 31 hectares of vineyards, Borgogno produces wines from the most renowned vineyards in Barolo: Canubi, Liste and Fossati.
"The wines of Casa Borgogno are honest, reliable, of great quality, respectful of tradition and remind us why Barolo is called the “king of wines”. They have a raw and elegant energy that only time can refine. It is a privilege to be able to share them at the table with friends/family or with a guest at our restaurant (Rocco) who we know appreciates depth and authenticity," comments David Rosa, Head Sommelier at Rocco Restaurant.
Rocco's wine cellar is a space where the art of wine is on display, curated by a team of experienced sommeliers who are dedicated and passionate about finding the perfect pairings.
